Wheres are economy leading too?

Im still a young kid,16, and i would like to know where our 12 to 13 trillion dollar in debt country is heading towards. I read some articles on the internet saying that it will slowley progress, and others saying that there is allready to many people that are causing our government to be corrupt, where they waiste our money on useless things, that they'll continue to do it anyways regardless of the future consiquences. Now somebody who really can give me as much of percise information tell me where we're putting ourself in. What events will occur once the economy crashes? will there be complete world chaos?, or should i be more on the optimist side and know everything has a better chance of turning out ok? After you explain, if you can give me a percentage of what the chance is of either going bankrupt, or progressing in time back to a better state.. Its just rediculous that people are that stupid to fall into thier greedy needs, and know its going to effect america and the rest of the world, when they do it other wise.. just saying
